Boys and Their Toys

Today Daddy took the boys to Toys R Us and bought them skateboards. They have been asking for one since we moved and some before that. We haven't let them go outside yet (we have to get their helmets from Mom and Dads), but they are very eager to ride them. They were doing some tricks in the living room and I got them to hold still long enough to take their pictures. Here begins the era of boy life: skinned knees, elbows, chins and many other bruises, cuts and scrapes. At least I stocked up on Spider Man and Bat Man bandaids! ;)

Wow! A thousand emotions as I look at this picture. I remember the day we bought their dad his first skateboard. I remember how good he was at it. I remember the prayers for safety - safety from physical harm and also prayers to keep the evil influences away. I know you are a great father Matt, so I will rest in that thought - and the thought that I've already sent prayers to my heavenly Father on their behalf. Thanks Matt and Marie for loving them so wonderfully and for providing them a chance to grow in a new area. I guess I can't write a book, so I'll just send love and prayers. (These pictures brought happy tears.)

That is too cute! Nathan had to have a skateboard for last Christmas. That was THE one thing on his list that we knew we probably better get! He doesn't really ride it so well yet, but it looks cute hanging in our garage! Oh well, we will get him some lessons or something soon. There's no rush!

They have many of the same outfits. Right now they let me dress them. I am sure it will stop eventually but I love it now!
